Open the Puzzles tab. Puzzles are the fastest way to learn tactics.
Rated puzzles
- A new puzzle is picked at about your puzzle rating. Find the best move, then the replies, until the puzzle is solved.
- Solve it and your puzzle rating goes up. Miss it and it goes down a little.
- Hint: tap for a hint on the piece or the idea. A few hints are free every day and you can get more with a rewarded ad (Rewarded ads).
- Next brings a new puzzle. Skip drops a hard one without penalty.
Themes
Open Puzzles, Themes to train one idea: forks, pins, skewers, discovered attacks, back-rank mates, deflection, sacrifices, endgames, mates in 1, 2 and 3, and more.
Missed puzzles
A puzzle you miss goes into your review queue and comes back later. Fixing old mistakes is the fastest way to remove them.
How to train
- 15 to 30 puzzles a day beat 200 once a week.
- Solve it in your head before you move the pieces. Calculate the whole line.
- After a game, train the theme of your biggest mistake.
Tip: the same puzzle in the review queue? That is a pattern you do not own yet. Look at it as a lesson, not as a failure.
